Loads Limited is a member of the Ali Group, a conglomerate of companies engaged in diverse activities such as packaging, insurance, investment banking, engineering and manufacture of vegetable oil, soaps, razor blades, food products, etc. Loads Limited was established in 1979 as a light engineering company, specializing in the manufacture of radiators, exhaust systems and sheet metal components for the automotive industry. Within a very short period of time, the company has grown into one of the largest component manufacturers in the vendor industry and is now known for the reliability and quality of its products. With the import of technology from Japan through a Technical Assistance & Licence Agreement with Toyo Radiator Company Limited, Japan, in 1995, coupled with the expansion of its plant and facilities, the company has become one of the major suppliers of OEM components in the country. After the completion of its expansion programme, the company’s investment in fixed assets has exceeded the Rs. 100 million mark. The plant is located on a 2 acre plot of land in the Korangi Industrial Area, Karachi, with factory premises spread over 67,000 sq. ft., and capacities enhanced through installation of state-of-the-art semi-automatic machines. To ensure quality and performance standards, prime raw materials are imported from worldwide sources including Japan, Korea, Germany and Sweden. The company’s tool and die shop has its own tool design and manufacturing capabilities for jigs, fixtures, dies and gauges. The tool shop also has the technical know-how of designing and manufacturing machine tools and equipment. In order to maintain international quality standards and to bring about improvements with changing demands, a team of highly qualified professionals provides a sound technological base. The professional team works alongside two hundred skilled workers to regulate the quality which has earned the trust and goodwill of our customers. Over the years, the Company has continued to receive Annual Quality Excellence Awards from both Suzuki and Toyota group of companies. In August 1999, the Company was awarded ISO 9002 certification by Lloyd’s Register of Quality Assurance. New product introductions by Loads in 1999 included Radiators for Toyota Hilux 640T and Baleno 1300cc car (Suzuki), and Exhaust Systems for Baleno 1300cc car and Daihatsu Cuore car. Presently, activities continue for development of new components for Toyota (new Model 140N), new models of Suzuki 1000cc cars and Hyundai cars. Negotiations are also ongoing for development of components for Daewoo and Fiat cars.
